In today’s world, when security is concerned, there is no room for errors and you have to be prepared for any situation. That is why EMS Security offers a variety of training programs both for civilian, law enforcement and military personnel. From simulations (closest experience to an actual attack), various tactical disciplines including Special Forces, Counter Terrorism, Surveillance, Weapon Handling and Hostile Environment training are just a few of the examples.
A 3 day intensive Street Officer Survival course engages law-enforcement officers in realistic scenarios designed to enhance the decision-making and physical skills required during unforeseen violent encounters. Each scenario is a replication of a real life-threatening incident encountered in the line of duty. The course focuses on the fundamentals of shooting, tactical pistol and carbine/patrol rifle skills and aims to teach student how to prepare for, survive and succeed in lethal encounters. The Street Officer Survival Course involves classroom theory and extensive range time, including force-on-force scenarios using Simunition® FX® firearms and includes force-on-force scenarios.
The first day of this course starts with a firearms warm-up, including a pistol and long-gun qualification course, and provides a review of the topics covered in the basic SWAT course, including a basic clearing refresher. The remainder of the course will use theoretical and practical instruction to develop advanced techniques used for building clearing and other tactical scenarios. Students will use these techniques in challenging, practical situations to create a solid foundation that will enable them to plan and execute a warrant service and hostage rescue.
This course is open to all officers who conduct warrant service, fugitive apprehension, SWAT operations and drug search warrants who are in need of sound tactics and techniques to conduct these operations efficiently and safely.
A 3 day course covers the use of the patrol rifle or carbine in everyday law-enforcement patrol operations. The course covers carry methods, associated equipment, deployment and use of the carbine from the vehicle. Students will learn aspects of patrol rifle use in the urban or rural setting, and how to employ various forms of cover while using the firearm.
A 5 day course provides an individual with little or no training with a scoped weapon with a solid instructional foundation. This course takes into consideration the needs of a Law Enforcement Sniper, but is also well suited for any military unit that is looking to increase their capabilities with surgical long range engagements. The course curriculum is broken down in easy to understand sections that build on each other to provide the student with a well-defined, understanding of scoped rifle employment that can be applied to their assignment as a sniper.
A 5-day course builds on the foundation provided by Basic Sniper instruction and takes a basic sniper/marksman to the next level of training and proficiency. After a review of the elements of the Basic Sniper course, the course moves into advanced sniper techniques by focusing on longer range engagements, as well as field-craft in both a rural and urban setting. The course was designed to develop advanced sniper tactics and skills and provides opportunities to shoot in scenarios developed to challenge the student sniper’s marksmanship and tactical decision making skills. The goal of this course is to give the successful graduate the necessary tools to be an effective sniper in all conditions from a law enforcement or military perspective.
During this 3-day course, students reduce their chances of being involved in a collision during a pursuit and develop officer skills in covering pursuits, responding to pursuits and general decision-making in pursuit situations. The course builds upon skills learned in existing basic law enforcement courses and allows students to coordinate vehicle handling skills with mental concentration, anticipation and planning through practical application. The training day incorporates a minimum of theoretical instruction with the primary focus placed on in-vehicle practical application using training vehicles provided by EMS Security. Skills discussed in the classroom are applied on the track using various drills designed to have the student experience multiple weight transfers, corrective skid control measures and the use of multiple traction environments.
Counter Terrorism Driving is an intensive course designed to provide theoretical and practical training on observation skills and driving techniques used by protective service professionals to identify and evade terrorist and criminal threats in a tactical environment. The training will emphasize the importance of being mentally prepared to evaluate situations and to react in an effective manner. Each student will learn to use their vehicle as a means of escape from a variety of ambush and assault scenarios.
Vehicle Commandeering is a practical training course for military and law enforcement personnel on how to quickly acquire a vehicle and use it to exit a hostile environment. The training will encompass selecting different types of vehicles, using and modifying various tools, defeating security systems and devices, starting the vehicle, and exiting the hostile environment.
This course can be added to an existing training course or provided as a stand-alone course.
Our flagship training package is a five-day course based around both theoretical and practical exercises. The teaching revolves around proven principles as opposed to situation scripting, thus better enabling the student to read and react to unforeseen circumstances. The emphasis is on empowering the individual to reduce the risks they face, respond appropriately when confronted with a potentially dangerous situation and ultimately to maximise control over their own environment.
It was the first of its kind ever devised and has since become the benchmark for hostile environment training in many sectors.
For those who have already completed hostile environment training, we also offer a three-day refresher course, designed to re-assert the principles of the full course as well as to present any relevant updates. It is important for the skills learned in hostile environment training to be kept up to date, as lives can often depend upon the speed with which important information is recalled.
